Always celebrate your successes. That’s what we did on September, 7th. Together with our employees we celebrated our 15th anniversary. In 2003, we started Agri Information Partners and we are proud to be a mature and professional player in Information Management in Agriculture nowadays. Best way to celebrate was to combine entertainment with some educational activities.
Our festivities hosted by Jacob van den Borne. Jacob is one of the most innovative arable farmers. The farm, which he runs together with his brother, is an example of a successful implementation of precision farming with respect to sustainability and economic return on investment.
On Saturday morning, we started with a workshop ”Flying Drones”. All the AIP employees got the opportunity to fly a drone and practise some intricate flight patterns. “Wow, it would be nice to have one at home”, “The kids would like to do this as well” were heard statements.
After lunch we had a presentation and a tour on Van den Borne’s farm. Great to experience Jacob’s vision and enthusiasm about his way of farming. For us it was very valuable to see how the technology, which we had played with in the morning, was used for serious business purposes on Jacob’s farm.
‘AIP Drone Challenge’
All employees went home with a drone. In order to stimulate creativity, Agri Information Partners organized a nice ‘Drone Challenge’. The drone (DJI TELLO) is easy to control and also suitable for programming it yourself. This is where our IT side comes in. In the agricultural sector, many observations are done, often by hand. These data streams pose challenges. Advanced technology, such as drones, can greatly facilitate data acquisition. The employees are challenged to release their skills on their AIP-drone.
New sources of inspiration for great new ideas to support our customers.
Looking forward to the coming years.
