MPS Registration software for sustainable cultivation certification

MPS (More Profitable Sustainability) supports growers worldwide in achieving their sustainability goals. Through innovative online tools and certification schemes, sustainability becomes measurable, transparent, and verifiable.

The MPS-ABC certification scheme provides ornamental horticulture companies with insights into their resource consumption and sustainability performance, encouraging continuous improvement in their operations.

Since 1998, Agri Information Partners has worked closely with MPS on projects such as the online registration platform for certification.

Two familiar faces in this long-standing collaboration are Marcel Bongaard (Business Analyst) and Martine Holtkamp (Product Development Manager) from MPS. Their commitment has played a central role in the development of the registration software. Read below how they reflect on the collaboration so far.

Custom software that meets specific needs

MPS needed flexible, user-friendly registration software that could handle fast data processing, provide clear insights, and allow room for future developments. Off-the-shelf IT solutions did not meet MPS’s specific requirements.

That’s why Agri Information Partners, commissioned by MPS and in close collaboration with their team, developed a tailor-made solution for the MPS-ABC certification registration platform.

This tool enables growers to easily record data on crop protection, fertilizers, energy, and water usage. The recorded data form the foundation for the MPS-ABC certification process, while also offering valuable insights into sustainability performance — helping growers continuously improve their operations.

User-friendly software, built with the future in mind

For MPS, it was essential that the registration platform was not only functionally robust, but also easy to use. That’s why special attention was given to user-friendliness and UX design.

Technical sustainability and future-proofing were also central priorities. Thanks to a clear overview of the entire application landscape, all processes could be secured, and data flows are well managed. Furthermore, the software is designed with the flexibility to accommodate future expansions and technical improvements.

The MPS team played an active role in the development process. By working in an agile manner with short sprints, the project could quickly respond to new insights and evolving needs — without losing sight of clarity or usability.

Built for Impact: smart, durable registration software

The result: a tool that fits practical needs and adds value where it matters most. Users describe the application as intuitive and easy to use — exactly what’s needed to strengthen sustainability step by step.

  • User-friendly: Developed with the user in mind, the tool aligns with the daily routines of growers.

  • Seamless data integration: Data is efficiently collected and actively used throughout the certification process.

  • Meaningful insights: The registration software makes data actionable, helping growers optimize their operations and focus on targeted sustainable improvements.

In this way, the software makes a concrete contribution to the shared goal of MPS, growers, and Agri Information Partners: a future-proof ornamental horticulture sector.

A sustainable partnership for a better future

For over 25 years, MPS and Agri Information Partners have collaborated on registration software that helps the ornamental horticulture sector become more sustainable. Thanks to shared knowledge and experience, tailor-made solutions are possible.

“The collaboration with the AIP team runs very smoothly. Communication is always easy — often they understand what we mean with just half a word. They know the sector and understand our needs. When they come up with good ideas during our discussions or development, they share and back them up well. These ideas are often implemented because they make our requirements easier or better to meet,” says Marcel.

Martine adds:

“Problems are discussed and solved. The focus is on finding solutions rather than counting every minute. Additionally, AIP has a wealth of knowledge that we can regularly draw upon. If we want something similar to a solution from another project, the question is shared more broadly within AIP, and the knowledge is passed on. That simply works very well.”
