We added multi-crop features to the Mercado Variety Trial module. This offers the possibility to collect observations on a trial that covers multiple crops.
You may use multi-crop trials in several circumstances, for instance:
- Different crops are placed in a trial at one site,
- A trial field or greenhouse is regarded as one trial location, while accommodating varieties of several crops,
- A grower cultivating more than one crop likes to evaluate new varieties in one trial, before sending the feedback to the breeding company.
With Mercado you have flexibility to combine multi-crop trials and crop specific trials. Varieties can be examined in many trials, of any kind.
Multi-crop trials use properties that are defined for all crops. Crop-specific trials can also use these generic properties, as well as properties which apply to a specific crop.
